The Governor of Kebbi State, His Excellency Comrade Dr. Mohammed Nasir Idris paid a courtesy visit to the High Commission of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, New Delhi on Friday. The Governor and his delegation were welcomed by the Acting High Commissioner, Mr. Ubong Akpan Johhny and other officials of the High Commission.
During the meeting, the Kebbi State Governor shared a few recent developments in Kebbi State, which included measures taken to improve the quality of education and ensure guaranteed employment. He further expressed his vision to transform the educational landscape of Kebbi State by continuing his partnership with Indian Universities, offering scholarship to Kebbi State students in specific professional fields. His Excellency Dr. Idris also communicated his interest to collaborate with Indian investors in the field of agriculture. The High Commission accepted to facilitate a mutually-beneficial and strategic collaboration with host authorities in this regard.
A day earlier, the Governor was awarded an Hononary Causa degree by GD Goenka University, a prominent Indian institution for his contribution to the growth of the Educational sector in Kebbi State. The event took place when His Excellency, the Governor attended a special Convocation Ceremony of the University. The Governor also announced automatic employment for all graduates from Kebbi State, who were under scholarship from Kebbi State Government, most of whom were medical students.
