High Commission of the Federal Republic of Nigeria
The High Commission of the Federal Republic of Nigeria had the privilege to welcome the Honorable Minister of State for Defence, Dr. Bello Mohammed Matawalle at the High Commission, during his visit to New Delhi. Dr. Matawalle and his delegation were received by the Acting High Commissioner, Mr. Ubong Akpan Johnny, along with senior officials of the High Commission.
Discussions touched on Nigeria's evolving defence partnerships, opportunities for joint collaboration in defence innovation, and the avenues for advancement of Nigeria's defence capabilities, as Dr. Matawalle expressed firm belief in the potential of the Nigerian workforce to elevate the country to unprecedented heights. Dr. Matawalle led a delegation that interacted with Indian defence industries during his visit from August 11-14, 2025.
Dr. Matawalle and Mr. Johnny emphasized the importance of continued dialogue to strengthen Nigeria-India ties, noting the longstanding and forward-looking relations that both countries share. Following the talks, Dr. Matawalle and his delegation took a brief tour of the High Commission premises, accompanied by senior staff.
