The Acting High Commissioner of the Federal Republic of Nigeria to India, Mr. Ubong Akpan Johnny met with the President of Global India Business Forum (GIBF), Dr. Jitendra Jose, at the High Commission, to discuss avenues for enhancing bilateral business and investment ties between Nigeria and India.
During the meeting, GIBF President, Dr. Jose formally extended an invitation to the Acting High Commissioner to participate as a Guest of Honor in the upcoming 3rd Edition of India-Africa Business Conclave scheduled to hold in Pune, India from 19th - 20th September, 2025. GIBF aims to strengthen bilateral business and investment relations between Nigeria and India by exploring opportunities for boosting trade, business engagement, and investment in coordination with the Nigerian High Commission in India.
The Acting High Commissioner welcomed the initiative and outlined priority sectors for foreign investment in Nigeria, including infrastructure, oil and gas, agro-processing, healthcare, and fintech. He emphasized that Nigeria has a significant market opportunity and potential for high financial returns for serious-minded investors in key investment areas. Both sides engaged in a substantive discussion on advancing commercial and investment ties between Nigeria and India.
