Documents issued in a foreign language must be translated into English by a sworn (official) translator before submission to the Nigerian High Commission for legalisation and authentication.

 

Kindly Note: All documents must be duly authenticated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Abuja before they can be legalized by the High Commission.

 

REQUIREMENTS

  1. An application letter to the Head of Mission introducing the applicant and explaining the request

  2. Actual document to be legalized

  3. A copy of the data page of the international passport

  4. Two recent passport-size photographs

  5. Legal affidavit confirming the applicant is unmarried, obtained from a Nigerian Court

  6. Payment receipt

  7. Any other additional requirement by the Nigerian High Commission

 

Corporate documents such as Registration of Company etc. should be endorsed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs before presentation at the High Commission for legalisation/authentication.
